Family Support Services Connects Local Families with Laptops and Hotspots to Help Bridge Digital Divide
Sunshine Health and its parent company, Centene Corporation, recently launched the K-12 Digital Divide Program across the state. As part of the effort, the organizations donated technology to foster care agencies to distribute to families in need.
Through this generous initiative, our agency received 100 new laptops and 300 hotspots to provide to local foster families at no cost.
Darrell Johnson, a devoted grandfather and foster parent who is in the process of adopting his two grandsons, recently received a donated Chromebook and hotspot. He and his grandson spoke with Gretchen Kernbach of Action News Jacksonville alongside Tory Wilson, our vice president of placement resources, to shed light on the digital divide and how it affects families.
