SAFETY HARBOR, FL. During the month of March, Family Support Services held a Teen Adoption Day at Sheriffs Youth Ranch in Safety Harbor. Ten teens were adopted into their forever families with three siblings staying together. The siblings were adopted by Sebastian Montenegro and his husband. While the original plan was not adopting three children, they knew it was the best path for everyone. “We loved them since the very first moment we met them,” Montenegro said.

“We are so excited to do what we think is the first ever teens-only adoption event in the state,” President and CEO Jenn Petion said. This event demonstrated the great need we have in our community for adoption of older children and siblings. The longer children stay in the foster care system, the lower the chances of their success to be productive, successful adults.
