Family Support Services is honored to be chosen as one of three recipients of a fundraiser presented by the The Exchange Club of Northeast St. Petersburg on Friday, Sept. 27, starting at 6 p.m. at Ferg’s Sports Bar and Concert Pavilion.

Joe Budrow of Radio St. Pete sat down with Jaclyn Citarella, FSS Community Engagement Manager, to hear about the agency’s mission and how the event will benefit children in out-of-home care. “Proceeds from this charity concert will further fund our programs like providing backpacks, Thanksgiving meals and holiday gifts to our families in need,” Jaclyn explains. “We are so very thankful the Exchange Club of Northeast St. Petersburg included Family Support Services as a beneficiary, and in turn, children and families in our community.”

The “Voices Against Abuse” concert event on Friday, Sept. 27 is dedicated to raising funds for the prevention of child abuse. Two other local nonprofits also dedicated to child protection, welfare and family enrichment – Clearwater for Youth and Quantum Leap Farm – are co-recipients with FSS of the event’s proceeds. The evening will include performances by Greg Billings and the Stay Up Lates, along with the Ocean Road Band.

General admission is $10, with a $50 limited-sales VIP package offering food and two beverage tickets plus exclusive access to a VIP seating area during the event. A 50-50 raffle and other giveaways will also take place during the concert. Previous benefit events hosted by the Exchange Club have netted close to $20,000 for child welfare groups, a number the Exchange Club hopes to meet or beat with this event.
